Things 1-800-SERIOUS

This month, we successfully closed a file and that involved the collection of almost $100,000 of life insurance benefits.

The carrier had told our client that they were not obligated to pay one cent due to the fact that, in their view, the death was caused by the husband's abuse of and illegal use of a prescription painkiller.  We were able to establish that the painkiller, while indeed taken in above prescribed dose, had not caused any impairment due to a long-term "tolerance build up" by the decedent and that the auto accident that claimed the life of our client's husband was not caused by the illegal use of the painkiller.

Practice Tip:
Just because an insurance company says that it is so, doesn't make it so.  If you do not receive what you consider to be the "correct" result from an insurance company, it would be a good idea to consult with a knowledgeable attorney about your rights.
