Interesting tidbit from our practice:
 
We encountered an odd scenario this past month that resulted in the loss of coverage to a young woman who was seriously injured and incurred over $20,000 of medical bills. Her husband had only listed himself as the named insured on their family auto. As a result, when she was injured while riding as a passenger in another auto, she was excluded from the med-pay and underinsured coverage. Practice tip: Seldom, if ever, does it make sense to have only one spouse listed as the named insured on an auto policy.
